Volunteering from home – Helpline and Live Chat

We have roles available working from home, supporting families through our helpline and live chat services. We provide support to parents, carers and family members on all aspects of parenting and family life.

Live chat

Our live chat volunteers offer support to families, carers and others on issues such as poverty, behavioural issues, problems with schools, relationship issues, family breakdown etc. We’re looking for remote live chat volunteers with experience of parenting issues who are able to respond to our service users with empathy and compassion.

You will need a laptop or PC, robust Wi-Fi and a confidential place to volunteer at home. We will provide you with training to enable you to provide Live Chat information, advice, guidance and support on any aspect of parenting and family life. Minimum skills requirement is an aptitude and confidence in expressing yourself in the written word and an ability to type at a minimum of 50 wpm. Once you have been trained, volunteers sign up for a regular weekly 4-hour shift. With the flexibility of volunteering from home yet still being very much a part of the Coram Family Lives live chat team.
