Do I get a certificate for doing the online parenting courses?

Yes, all our online Parenting Courses provide a certificate to download at the end. To get the certificate, make sure you have viewed all the screens in the course and answered the quiz questions.

How long do the online parenting courses take?

Coram Family Lives’ online parenting courses take between approximately 1 and 3 hours total. They are self-guided and you can stop and come back to them at any time before the deadline.

How long will I have access to my online parenting course?

All our courses have either a one or two-month time limit (depending on the length). However, if you need more time, you can request it by contacting services@coramfamilylives.org.uk.

At the end of each course, there is also a summary for you to download and keep to refresh your memory on what you’ve learned after you no longer have access.

I need more time to finish my online parenting course

If you didn’t complete the course before the deadline, we can give you an extension – please contact us on services@coramfamilylives.org.uk to arrange this.

Who writes the online parenting courses?

Our online parenting course content is developed by experienced parenting professionals with years of experience supporting families with relevant issues. The courses are edited and uploaded by members of our digital and communications team who are responsible for making sure the text is easy to read and understand, adding appropriate images and setting up the interactive elements. Before courses are launched, they are tested by parents and volunteers and signed off by members of Coram Family Lives’ Website and Content Development Group.

I have been required by a court to take a parenting course – do your courses qualify?

There is no one set standard for what parenting courses are accepted by the courts for this purpose. Our parenting courses are widely used for this purpose and provide a certificate when completed. If you are unsure, please check with the court that has made the requirement.

How do I get my certificate?

When you get to the last screen of the course, click the ‘finish’ button in the top right corner to be taken to the page where you can download your certificate. If the ‘finish’ button is not clickable, check the course contents list (click the symbol on the left with three lines and an arrow to pop this out if it is hidden) and make sure all screens are ticked as complete. Can I do the courses on a mobile device? 

Yes, our courses work on computers, tablets or smartphones.

What format are the online parenting courses? 

The courses are a mixture of text, images, interactive elements, videos and quizzes. There is an audio voiceover, which is the same content as the written text. The videos have subtitles.

Are the online parenting courses available in other languages? 

Our New Baby in the Family course is available in Arabic and Pashtu versions. These versions were translated by a translator and tested by native speakers.

For all other courses and other languages, our courses platform works with in-browser translation. So, if you have translation turned on in your browser to translate other websites, this will also work with our courses to automatically translate them. Your certificate will still be in English.
