Free online parenting course with certificate, for expectant parents and parents of newborns and babies. Learn about baby development, how to understand and meet your baby’s needs and how to cope as a new parent.
Who is the course for?
The course is for parents of babies up to 12 months, and for those expecting a baby, whether they are first-time parents or adding a sibling to the family.
If you have a toddler, or your baby is approaching this age, you may also be interested in our Let’s Play course, which covers the importance of play for your child’s development in the early years.
What does the course cover?
A new baby arriving in the family brings big changes for everyone, particularly for your other children. It can bring about many different emotions and feelings that can take you and your family by surprise.

How does the course work?
The course is developed by experienced family support workers and filled with helpful techniques and ideas to help you become a more confident and happier parent to your baby. This is a self-guided parenting course, which you can do whenever and wherever suits you and work through it at our own pace.
The course is a mixture of text, images, interactive elements, videos and quizzes. You can do it on a mobile, tablet or computer. You’ll get a downloadable certificate when you complete the course.
The course takes approximately 1-1.5 hours in total. You have 30 days from registering to complete this course.
